This commission honors the career of a lifetime professional firefighter, Memorabilia includes fire hoses, shiny nozzles, an ax, an alarm box, a lithograph of a vintage fire wagon, a cast iron fireman on the run, his fireman's hat and department portrait photograph. I completed the tribute to this everyday hero with an element of fire by way of a lit match that I added -- a subtle touch of living drama to break the boundary of still life.
